Mining Waste Directive Draft Consultation ended in October 2009

The consultation phase on the new Mining Waste Directive for Scotland ended on 16 October 2009. The new legislation, which is expected to come into force later this year, will ensure sure that businesses operating in the extractive industries prevent or reduce the impacts of extractive waste from mining and quarrying on the environment and human health.
