Development and Land Regeneration
A major obstacle to the development of many areas, whether for retail, commercial, industrial, social or residential end uses, is the impact of adverse ground conditions. These can introduce debilitating 'abnormal costs' to land development.
We consider that we have a vital role in the development process, maximising on land values through the effective identification and management of ground constraints. For many sites, particularly in the industrial areas of the UK, such problems relate to chemical contamination of soils and groundwater, surface instability associated with abandoned mineworkings, or adverse foundation conditions due to deep unconsolidated fills. We provide services in the investigation of land and the design of effective and economic remedial solutions. Our core services, which are often introduced through Phase I Desk Studies and Phase II Site Investigations, include:
- Contaminated Land Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments
- Landfill Gas Monitoring and Management
- Contaminated Land Remediation Design Solutions
- Investigations of Abandoned Mineworkings and Shafts
- Mine Subsidence Assessments
- Design of Mine and Mineshaft Stabilisation Schemes - drilling and grouting
- Design and Management of Earthworks
- Rock and Soil Slope Stability Assessments
- Opencast Reclamation Design
- Geotechnical Monitoring
- Certification of Ground Improvement
- Planning Related Services - Environmental Impact Assessments
- Environmental Due Diligence
